Smart Locker System – Kiosk User Guide
The Smart Locker Kiosk is a self-service interface that enables users to securely access and manage devices through a connected Smart Locker system.
Users can authenticate themselves, create device requests directly from the kiosk, or access requests that have already been created through the web application. Once a request is selected and validated, the kiosk provides access to the corresponding locker slot so the user can complete the required device operation.
The kiosk also provides administrative settings for configuring network connectivity, managing kiosk users, and safely shutting down the device.
Purpose of the Kiosk
The Smart Locker Kiosk is designed to provide a simple and controlled way to manage device-related operations without requiring manual assistance.
It helps users:
- Authenticate using a QR code or NFC.
- Captures face for security and audit purpose.
- Create device requests from the kiosk.
- View requests created through the web application.
- Proceed with an available request.
- Access the assigned locker slot.
- Complete the required device operation.
- Receive confirmation when the request is completed.
Authentication
Authentication is used to verify the user before allowing access to requests and locker operations.
The Smart Locker Kiosk supports the following authentication methods:
- NFC – Authenticate by tapping a supported NFC card or device on the kiosk’s NFC reader.
- QR Code – Authenticate by scanning a valid QR code using the kiosk scanner.
Face Detection
The Smart Locker Kiosk uses the camera to detect and capture the user’s face during the kiosk operation.
The captured face is associated with the relevant request and can be stored as part of the request record and audit history.
Note: Face Detection captures the user’s face for record-keeping and tracking purposes. It does not authenticate or verify the user’s identity.
Settings and Administration
The kiosk includes a Settings area for authorized users to manage device configuration and administrative functions.
The available settings include:

Note: Access to administrative settings should be limited to authorized users.
Before You Begin
Before using the Smart Locker Kiosk, ensure that:
- The kiosk has completed its initial device setup.
- The kiosk is connected to the required network.
- The Smart Locker system is available.
- You have a valid QR code or registered NFC for authentication.
- Any required device request has been created or is available for creation through the kiosk.
Important: Follow the instructions displayed on the kiosk during each operation. Do not force open a locker or interrupt an active transaction.
